A young Haitian guy is seeking to adopt a child he discovered in a garbage can despite the fact that it interferes with his university education.

Jimmy Amisial, 27, who has been formally recognized as the boy’s guardian, is only waiting to gather money for the adoption process while spending a sizable amount of time away from his academic pursuits.

According to the legend, a 22-year-old man named Mr. Amisial visited his mother Elicie in Haiti in December 2017 while on vacation from his studies at Texas State University, where he is majoring in communication and electronic media.

“When I woke up that day, I was totally unaware that my life was about to change forever,” Jimmy stated.

Jimmy has volunteered at the nearby orphanage since he was a youngster, and on this occasion, he had brought gifts for the kids.

He noticed a big crowd gathered around a garbage can while on his route to the orphanage. When Jimmy finally arrived at the center of the ruckus, he was shocked to see a four-month-old infant inside the trash can.

“People were crowding round this trash bin and I heard them arguing about what to do with this tiny baby,” stated Jimmy. “Everyone was just staring at him. Not a single soul wanted to help.”

The infant was taken home by brave Jimmy and his mother Elicie Jean, age 66, where they bathed, dressed, and fed him milk before taking him for medical attention. The boy’s parents were never located despite the police’s best efforts throughout their first inquiry.

A court asked Jimmy whether he would take on the role of the child’s legal guardian because he had no other options.

“I was already behind on my university fees and my family has always struggled to make ends meet,” he said. “But I didn’t have a dad growing up, and this poor child was facing a lifetime of instability and uncertainty.”

“Something inside was telling me that this had happened for a reason, so I took a leap of faith.”

Since those tragic times, Jimmy has divided his time between the United States and Gonaives, Haiti, where Elicie is taking care of the kid. He chose Emilio for his charge.

Emilio, who recently started kindergarten at the age of five, has now officially been adopted by Jimmy.

“I had to do what I had to do when no one else wanted to do it, and I’m so grateful for the past four and a half years,” Jimmy said.

“I’m glad I got the opportunity to transform his life from being abandoned in the trash to being a wonderful treasure,” he stated. “I truly do feel like a father, and I’m excited to put pen to paper and make Emilio my son. I just need to raise the money first.”

Emilio is a musical enthusiast and a brilliant light. When he grows up, he plans to pursue a career in music.

“Mom loves him, the kids in the orphanage love him, and I love him as if he were my own. He really is a special little boy.”
