One in four women knows the deep pain of miscarriage. These women live with grief and loss and think about what might have been if their situation was different. This was Sadie Brittle and her husband, Gary’s, pain.  They were devasted when they lost their baby to an ectopic pregnancy.  The baby developed for 8 weeks in one of Sadie’s fallopian tubes.  Eventually, the tube ruptured and the pregnancy could not be saved.

During her grief, Sadie took some time off of work, she went on a short vacation three months after the tragic loss.

While she was on vacation, she became concerned and confused as to why her stomach was still so swollen and why she still felt unwell. The event was traumatic, but surely after these months, her stomach should be getting back to normal.  She went back to her doctor and that’s when the startling news was uncovered… Sadie Brittle was still pregnant! There was a twin in her womb that had been undiscovered.  All the bleeding from her ectopic pregnancy and rupture concealed the hidden pregnancy.

Months later, Sadie gave birth to Teddie by a C-section. They still had their sadness from the loss of the baby, but there was a brand new joy when this precious, healthy baby arrived.  Sadie, Gary and Teddie’s older sister welcomed this bundle of joy into their family and felt a brand new reason to move forward in their grief.
